AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING PORTIONS
OF EAST 30TH STREET, FERRY STREET AND AN
UNNAMED STREET SHOWN ON THE PLAT OF RAPLEY
ESTATE, IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, Arkansas Warehouse Corporation, filed a
petition with the Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board to close, vacate and
abandon the following described portions of streets, to wit:
and
All those parts of East 30th Street, Ferry
Street and an unnamed street shown on the Plat
of Rapley Estate recorded in Deed Book AB at
Page 146, in the office of the Recorder for
Pulaski County, Arkansas, which are embraced
in the following description:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 44,
Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas; thence due North to the South
line of Block 2, BIDDLE ADDITION to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence East along
the South lines of Block 2 and Block 3 (crossing
the street between said Blocks 2 and 3), BIDDLE
ADDITION to the Southeast Corner of Block 3,
BIDDLE ADDITION, on the Quapaw Line; thence
North along the East line of Block 3, BIDDLE
ADDITION (being also the Quapaw line) to the
Northeast corner of said Block 3; thence East
20 feet; thence South, parallel to the Quapaw
line, to a point which is on the Southerly line
of Lot 24, Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, projected in a straight
line Easterly; thence Southwesterly along said
Easterly projection of the Southerly line of said
Lot 24 to the Southeast corner of said Lot 24;
thence North along the East lime of Block 1,
QUAPAW ADDITION to the Northeast corner of Lot
44, Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION; thence West along
the North line of said Lot 44 to the Northwest
corner thereof, being the Point of Beginning.
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the
Board of Directors has at the time and place mentioned in
the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the
question and has ascertained that the petitioner is the
owner of all property abutting the portions of streets

to be closed; that the petitioner, by its petition, has
consented to the vacation of the street; that the portions
of the streets to be closed are not required for public pur-
poses and have not been actually used by the public for a
much greater period than five (5) years, if in fact they
were ever so used; and that the public interest and welfare
will be benefited by abandonment of such portion of such
street;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with
the right of the public generally, in and to the following
described portions of streets, to wit:
All those parts of East 30th Street, Ferry
Street and an unnamed street shown on the Plat
of Rapley Estate recorded in Deed Book AB at
Page 146, in the office of the Recorder for
Pulaski County, Arkansas, which are embraced
in the following description:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 44,
Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas; thence due North to the South
line of Block 2, BIDDLE ADDITION to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence East along
the South lines of Block 2 and Block 3 (crossing
the street between said Blocks 2 and 3), BIDDLE
ADDITION to the Southeast Corner of Block 3,
BIDDLE ADDITION, on the Quapaw Line; thence
North along the East line of Block 3, BIDDLE
ADDITION (being also the Quapaw line) to the
Northeast corner of said Block 3; thence East
20 feet; thence South, parallel to the Quapaw
line, to a point which is on the Southerly line
of Lot 24, Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, projected in a straight
line Easterly; thence Southwesterly along said
Easterly projection of the Southerly line of said
Lot 24 to the Southeast corner of said Lot 24;
thence North along the East line of Block 1,
QUAPAW ADDITION to the Northeast corner of Lot
44, Block 1, QUAPAW ADDITION; thence West along
the North line of said Lot 44 to the Northwest
corner thereof, being the Point of Beginning.
Section 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the
Recorder and recorded in the Deed Records of Pulaski County,
Arkansas.
Section 3. Whereas, the existence of the aforesaid
portions of East 30th Street, Ferry Street and an unnamed
street shown on the Plat of Rapley Estate Subdivision are
adverse to the public interest and welfare, an emergency
is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage.
