AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK VACATING, CLOSING
AND ABANDONING STREETS AND ALLEYS BOUNDED
BY WEST 36TH STREET ON THE NORTH, WEST 38TH
STREET ON THE SOUTH, POTTER STREET ON THE
EAST AND WALKER STREET ON THE WEST, ALL
LYING AND BEING SITUATED WITHIN THE JOHN
BARROW ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock purposes, under its
authority provided for by Arkansas Statutes, to close, vacate
and abandon 37th Street, from Walker Street to Potter Street
and Gilman Street from 38th Street to 36th Street and all alleys
located in Blocks 39, 40, 57 and 58, John Barrow Addition to
the City of Little Rock, now appearing of record in Deed Book 1,
at Page 55 in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, subject, however, to any public utility easements
located in said streets and alleys; and
WHEREAS, after due notice, the Board of Directors has,
at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard, on the question and has ascertained that
the streets and alleys hereinbefore described have heretofore
been dedicated to the public use as streets and alleys, but are
no longer required for.such purposes and that the public interest
and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of
said streets and alleys.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby releases,
vacates, closes and abandons all its right, together with the
rights of the public generally in and to the following described
streets and alleys: 37th Street from Walker Street to Potter
Street and Gilman Street, from 38th Street to 36th Street and all
alleys located in Blocks 39, 40, 57 and 58, John Barrow Addition

to the City of Little Rock, now appearing of record in Deed
Book 1, at Page 55 in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski
County, Arkansas, subject, however, to any public utility
easements located in said streets and alleys.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder
of Pulaski County, Arkansas and recorded in the Deed Records
of the County.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage.
