HomeMy WebLinkAbout11998ORDINANCE NO. 119998 AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO THRON, DROP, PLACE, OR OT9MISE DEPOSIT ANY PAPER,HANDBILLS, CANS, BOTTLES, OR OTHER TRASH, REFUSE, JUNK, GARBAGE, OR LITTER ANY PLACE EXCEPT IN PUBLIC OR APPROVED PRIVATE RECEPTACLES OR OFFICIAL PUBLIC DUMPS, PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. - -� SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to throw, drop, place or otherwise deposit i o� any paper, handbills, cans, bottles, or other trash, refuse, junk, garbage, or littler upon any street, sidewalk or other I 'I co M Ln,n; public place within this city, or upon any private property �, within this city, except in public receptacles or in authorized �4 0 o private receptacles for collection, or in official public dumps. roi "� SECTION 2. Persons placing, dropping or otherwise a� 'c c V depositing any paperr cans, bottles, or other trash, refuse, ra cIv junk, garbage, or litter in public receptacles or in authorized private receptacles shall do so in such a manner as to prevent it from being carried or deposited by the elements upon any street, sidewalk or other public place or upon private property. SECTION 3. No person shall sweep into or deposit litter from any source into any gutter, street, or other public place within the city. Persons owning or occupying property shall keep the sidewalks adjacent to such premises free of articles described in Section 1. SECTION 4. Any person violating the provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not more than $25.00. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall repeal only such ordinances and resolutions or parts thereof that are expressly in conflict herewith. Ova: c ^� i1 f } V � SECTION 6.
