ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND ABANDONING AND
CLOSING 29TH STREET AND THE ALLEYS LYING BETWEEN
BLOCKS 47 and 48, JOHN BARROW'S ADDITION TO THE CI-
TY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CONVEYANCE BY QUIT -CLAIM DEED OF THE 20 FOOT STRIP
OF GROUND LYING TO THE EAST OF AND ABUTTING SAID
BLOCKS 47 and 48, JOHN BARROW'S ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 7th day of August,
1969, asking the Board of Directors to vacate, abandon and close
29th Street and the alleys lying between Blocks 47 and 48, John
Barrow's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and to
deed by quit -claim deed to the Petitioners, H. G. Fausett and Birdie
M. Fausett, the 20 foot strip of ground lying directly East of
and abutting said blocks 47 and 48, John Barrow's Addition to the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as designated on the Plat of John
Barrow's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
sh6w6 on the Plat of said Addition of record in Plat Book 1, Page
55 of the records of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of
Directors has at the time and place mentioned in the notice published
for the time and in the manner prescribed by law, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the questions and has ascertained that the
street and alleys and the said 20 foot strip of ground hereinbefore
described, have heretofore been dedicated or deeded to the public
use as streets and alleys; that they have not been actually used
by the public generally for a period of at least five years subse-
quent to the filing of the Plat; that petitioners, H. G. Fausett
and Birdie M. Fausett are the sole owners of Blocks 47 gnd 48,
John Barrow's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; that
it is impossible and impractiQ to use the 20 foot strip of ground
lying East of and abutting said Blocks 47 and 48 as a public street;
and that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely af-
fected by the abandonment and closing of said streets and alleys
and by the deeding of the said 20 foot strip of ground to H. G.
Fausett and Birdie M. Fausett.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of
the Public generally, in and to the streets and alleys designated
as follows: 29th Street lying between Blocks 47 and k8, John Bar-
row's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; the 10 foot
alleys lying between Blocks 47 and 48, John Barrowts Addition to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; the 20 foot strip of ground
lying to the East of and abutting Blocks 47 and 48, John Barrows
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, subject however, to
any utility easements which might be required by utility companies
and the Public Works Department in said streets and alleys; and directs
the execution of a quit claim deed by the Mayor and City Clerk
to H. G. Fausett and Birdie M. Fausett of the 20 foot strip of
ground lying to the East of and abutting Blocks 47 and 48, John
Barrows Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, under
authority given in Section 19 -2304, Arkansas Stautes of 1947, An-
notated; all as shown on the Plat of John Barrowts Addition to the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, recorded in Plat Book 1 at Page 55
of the records of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Circuit Clerk and
Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed
records of the County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
