HomeMy WebLinkAbout11832I RESOLUTION NO. 11,832 3 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF CONSTRUCTING THE ROCK 4 CREEK TRAIL WITH GRANT ASSISTANCE FROM THE ARKANSAS 5 RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUND; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS the City of Little Rock, Arkansas applied for funding assistance 8 through the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program to develop the Rock Creek trail 9 facility along Rock Creek from Bowman Road to Loyola Drive and has been notified by 10 the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department that this project has been 11 approved, and 12 WHEREAS the city of Little Rock will provide its 20% share of the 80/20 13 matching funds for the project, and 14 WHEREAS this facility, using federal funding, will be open and available for use 15 by the general public. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS 18 Section 1. The City of Little Rock will participate in accordance with its 19 designated responsibility, including future maintenance of this project. 20 Section 2. Little Rock Parks and Recreation Director Bryan Day is hereby 21 authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary 22 to expedite the construction of the above stated project. 23 Section 3. The Little Rock Board of Directors pledges its full support and hereby 24 authorizes the City of Little Rock to cooperate with the Arkansas State Highway and 25 Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project. 26 ADOPTED: October 5, 2004 PAGE 1 OF 2 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 6 resolution. 7 Section 4. Repealer.
