(C) Subsection (G) (d) of Section 43.21 of the Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(G) (d). A building is being constructed on a lot
within six hundred feet of which there already exist and are available
to the general public, five hundred or more off - street parking spaces
in parking areas that are not requirements as established by other
provisions of this chapter."
(D) Subsection (H) of Section 43.21 of the Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(H) PARKING AREA. Every parcel of land which, after
the effective date of this Chapter, is changed to a parking area, auto-
mobile, motor vehicle, or trailer sales or storage area, or automobile
or motor vehicle service station or garage shall be developed as follows:

(a) Such parking area where subject to wheeled
traffic shall be paved. The minimum pavement requirements shall be
as follows: IV' asphaltic concrete hot mix with a 5" compacted base,
or a double surface treatment with a 5" compacted base, or a 4" concrete
slab, and shall have appropriate bumper guards where needed.
(b) Where such parking area adjoins a lot in a
residential zone, or is across the street from a residential zone, a compact
evergreen screen or a permanent type opaque fence of wood, masonry, or
metal construction having a height of not less than four feet shall be
erected and maintained between such area and the property in residential
zones. In a residential zone all required front yard shall be properly
maintained as such except for ingress or egress. Such front yard space
shall not be used for off - street parking nor for maneuver area.
(c) Any light used to illuminate said parking
area shall be so arranged as to reflect the light away from adjacent properties
or from properties located across the street.
(d) Every application for a permit to construct or
maintain a parking lot shall contain detailed plans describing the intend-
ed facility.
(e) It shall be prohibited to place asphalt shingles or
composition shingle strips or cut -outs on any parking area.
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
In the event any section, paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of said ordinance shall not be affected thereby;
and it is intended that every other section, paragraph, sentence, clause and
phrase of this ordinance shall remain and be in full force and effect.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage.
