AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$6,500.00 FROM THE UNEXPENDED BALANCE
OF THE STREET FUND TO BUDGET ACCOUNT
488 -4.09 - MAINTENANCE OF PARKING METERS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING CERTAIN
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED BY THE PARKING METER
DIVISION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DE-
PARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK;
WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the parking meters owned and operated by
the City of Little Rock must be converted to provide for in-
creased parking rates as authorized by the Board of Directors
in Ordinance No. 12,111, dated August 5, 1968; and
WHEREAS, there is only one producer, namely, Duncan
Industries, Inc., of the repair parts necessary to accomplish
this conversion; and
WHEREAS, there is an immediate need to complete the
conversion as rapidly as possible; and
WHEREAS, the purchase price of these repair parts
is Six Thousand Five Hundred and N01100 Dollars ($6,500.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from the
unexpended balance of the Street Fund to Budget Account
488 -4.09 - Maintenance of Parking Meters, the sum of Six
Thousand Five Hundred and NO 1100 Dollars ($6,500.00) to be
used to purchase the repair parts necessary to convert existing
parking meters to provide for increased parking rates, which
purchase is hereby authorized.
SECTION 2. Invitations to bid are hereby waived
in that there is only one producer, namely, Duncan Industries,
Inc., of the required repair parts and there exists a need to

have the existing meters converted as rapidly as possible.
SECTION 3. Upon receipt of the repair parts
purchased in Section 1, the City Manager and Director of
Finance are hereby authorized and directed to issue the
necessary warrant or warrants in payment of the purchase
price.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage.
