HomeMy WebLinkAbout12387,4 r- Ln M b O A b a) b i~ a� ORDINANCE NO. 12,387 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR MANDATORY RETIREMENT AGE OF CITY EMPLOYEES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION to No employee of the City, either uniformed or non, uniformed, shall be entitled to continue in such employment beyond his or her 65th birthday. Provided, however, the City Manager may, where the need for the particular services of a given employee is critical to the City, grant an extension foE--continued employment for as much as one year at a time but in no case shall such employee be allowed full -time employment beyond his or her 70th birthday. Pro- vided further, in no instance shall retirement benefits as provided by Section 2 -24 of the Code of Ordinances accrue to an employee based on disability occurring past his or her 65th birthday. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to proceed immediately to review and evaluate the employment situation of each employee of the City 65 years of age and over so as to effectuate fully the provisions of Section 1 hereof within one year from the passage of this Ordinance. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. PASSED: September 21, 1970 ATTEST: City Clerk 60O -70 4-6
