ORDINANCE NO. 12,482
ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK 197, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, A petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 13th day of April ,
1971, asking the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon all of the
alley in Block 197, Original City of Little Rock, as the same is
designated on the Begley Map of the Original City of Little Rock,
subject, however, to any public easements in said alley; and
WHEREAS, After due notices as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard
all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained
that the alley, hereinbefore described, has heretofore been dedicated
to the public use as an alley, as herein described; has not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five
(5) years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all of the
owners of the property abutting upon the alley to be vacated have
filed with the Board of Directors their written consent to such
abandonment or joined in the petition herein; and that public inter-
est and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment
of such alley;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
11 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of
the public generally, in and to the alley designated as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block
197, Original City of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence
South along the east lines of Lots 1, 21 31 4, 5
and 6 in said Block to the Southeast corner of Lot
6 in said Block; thence East to the Southwest cor-
ner of Lot 7 in said Block; thence North along the
West lines of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in said
Block to the Northwest corner of Lot 12 in said
Block; thence West to the Northeast corner of Lot
1 in said Block, the point of beginning;
subject, however, to any public utility easements located in said
alley.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and Clerk of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, be and they hereby are authorized and directed, for and

On behalf of said City, to execute and deliver quitclaim deeds, in
recordable form, conveying to said grantees all of the right, title,
interest and claim, except for the easements aforesaid, of the said
City, and the public generally, as follows:
1. To the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, the following:
"That part of Block 197, ORIGINAL CITY of Little
Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, described as follows:
beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 12 in
said Block; thence South along the West line of
Lots 12, 11 and 10 in said Block to the Southwest
corner of Lot 10 in said Block; thence West to a
point which is located in the center of the alley
on the South line of Lot 10 in said Block, extended
West; thence North along a line in the center of
said alley, parallel to the West line of Lots 10,
11 and 12 in said Block to a point located in the
center of the alley between Lots 1 and 12 in said
Block and on the North line, extended West, of
Lot 12 in said Block; thence East to the North-
west corner of Lot 12 in said Block, the point of
beginning; it being the intention of Grantor to
convey to Grantee the East one -half of the alley
closed by Ordinance No. 12,482 of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, which East. one -half lies
between Lots 10, 11 and 12 in said Block located
on the East thereof, and Lots 1, 2 and 3 in said
Block, on the West thereof."
2. To Flake, Incorporated, an Arkansas corporation, and
Leah B. Trahin, the following:
"That part of Block 197, ORIGINAL CITY of Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, described as follows: begin-
ning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1 in said Block;
thence South along the East line of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4,
5 and 6 in said Block to the Southeast corner of
Lot 6 in said Block; thence East to the Southwest
corner of Lot 7 in said Block; thence North along
the West line of Lots 7, 8 and 9 in said Block
to the Northwest corner of Lot 9 in said Block;
thence West along the North line of Lot 9 in said
Block, extended West, to a point which is located
in the center of the alley between Lots 3 and 9 in
said Block; thence North along a line in the center
of said alley, parallel to the East line of Lots
3, 2 and 1 in said Block, to a point located in the
center of said alley and on.the North line of Lots 1,
Extended East, in said Block; thence West to the
Northeast corner of Lot 1 in said Block, the point
of beginning; it being the intention of Grantor to
convey to Grantees all of that alley closed by

Ordinance No. _ 12,482 of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, which lies between Lots 7, 8 and 9,
in said Block to the East, and Lots 4, 5 and 6 in
said Block to the West; and the West one -half of
the said alley which lies between Lots 10, 11 and 12
in said Block, on the East thereof, and Lots 1, 2
and 3 in said Block, on the West thereof."
SECTION 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County and recorded in the deed Records of the County.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
