HomeMy WebLinkAbout12463rr s y N r� �o N 00 N u� N N r-I 0 A b W b c a� V ORDINANCE NO. 12,463 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL SYSTEM FOR RECEIVING BURGLAR AND FIRE ALARMS IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; ESTABLISHING FEES FOR CONNECTIONS TO THE SYSTEM AND FOR ANNUAL SERVICE; AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH MOSLER SAFE COMPANY; REPEALING SECTIONS 13 -15 and 31 -15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, there is a recognized need for a central system for receiving burglar and fire alarms in the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, the Mosler Safe Company has proposed to provide and install the necessary equipment to serve as the receiving panel or board at a place to be designated by the City without charge to the City for such equipment capable of receiving both burglar and fire alarms from throughout the City; and WHEREAS, as a condition for providing said central equip- ment Mosler Safe Company would expect to be granted the privilege of making transfers of existing connections to the City's fire and /or burglar alarm systems and new connections to the central system for which it would be paid a connection fee and further, be granted the privilege of providing annual maintenance to the central system and the connections thereto for which it would be paid an annual service fee. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with Mosler Safe Company providing for the installation by said company, at a place to be designated within the Central Fire Station, all equipment and apparatus necessary for a central standardized system for receiving both burglar and fire alarms from throughout the City of Little Rock. It is to be understood that the said company will provide and install the said central system at its sole expense and without charge to the City. The Agreement will provide that Mosler Safe Company will make all tie -ins or connections, either the trans- ferring of existing connections to the present-fire and /or 2 burglar alarm system or for new connections; and that for such service the capany shall be paid at the rate of $75.00 per connection involving fire alarm service and a fee of $50.00 per connection involving burglar alarm service. Further, Mosler Safe Company is granted the privilege of providing annual maintenance and service to the central system and the connections thereto for which it will be paid an annual fee per ccnnection. SECI'IOi\l 2. Users of the burglar and fire alarm system herein provided for shall pay, in addition to the connection fees provided for in Section 1 hereof, an annual service charge of $140.00 per connection to the Central System. SECTION 3. Sections 13 -15 and 31 -15 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining to service charges for fire alarm and burglar alarm system connections to the Police and Fire Departments of the City are hereby repealed.
