AN ORDINANCE PLEDGING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION
WITH THE CITY OF NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
AND PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS JOINTLY IN PUBLIC
ACQUISITION OF THE ASSETS OF TWIN CITY TRANSIT,
INC.; APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $82,000.00 FROM
THE UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF THE STREET FUND;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas hereby pledges to
participate jointly with the City of North Little Rock, Arkansas and
Pulaski County, Arkansas to fund the acquisition of all the assets
of Twin City Transit, Inc. utilizing Metroplan, a Council of Local
Governments, as the vehicle for taking title to said assets and assuming
responsibility for the future management and operation of the public
transit system in the metropolitan area of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $82,000.00
from the unappropriated balance of the Street Fund to be used as the
City's share in funding the acquisition of Twin City Transit, Inc.
assets together with the purchase of a Tire Rental Contract with Uniroyal.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute such
documents and instruments as may be required in an application to the
United States Department of Transportation for federal funds available
for the purchase of the Twin City Transit, Inc. assets and to receive
said funds for such purpose. The City Manager is further authorized to
proceed with any and all required and necessary endeavors and undertakings
to consummate the acquisition of the Twin City Transit, Inc. assets in
keeping with the concept outlined in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
