ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS IN PINE
CRR'ST ADDITION, AND STREETS AND ALLEYS IN WEST END SUBDIVISION,
A. M. BELL'S SUBDIVISION, AND JOSEPHINE PANKEY'S SECOND ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 21st day of December,
1971, asking the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon certain
streets and alleys in Pine Crest Addition, and Streets and alleys
in West End Subdivision, A. M. Bell's Subdivision, and Josephine
Pankey's Second Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as
designated on the Plats of said Additions now appearing of record
in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, subject
however, to any public easements in said alleys and streets, and;
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascer-
tained that the streets and alleys hereinafter described are no
longer needed for streets and alleys; that all of the owners of
the property abutting upon the streets and alleys to be vacated
have filed with the Board of Directors their written consent to
such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not
be adversely affected by the abandonment of such streets and
alleys.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby re-
leases, vacates, and abandons all its rights, together with the
rights of the public generally, in and to the streets and alleys
designated as follows:
Maryland Avenue (West 9th Street) between Buchanan and the
Right-of-way of the Wilbur D. Mills Freeway.
Grant Street from the North Right -of -way line of West 10th
Street to the Right-of-way of the Wilbur D. Mills Freeway.
Buchanan Street from the North right-of-way of West 10th
Street to the Right-of-way of the Wilbur D. Mills Freeway.
The alleys lying in Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4, of Pine Crest
Addition EXCEPT those parts thereof lying within the Right-
of-way of the Wilbur D. Mills Freeway.

Cox Street from the South Right-of-way of West 16th Street
to the North Right-of-way of West 17th Street.
West 17th Street from the East Right -of -way of Cox Street
to the West Right-of-way of Clary Street.
Clary Street from the South Right-of-way of West 16th Street
to the North Right-of-way of West 18th Street.
That part of the alley lying between West 16th Street and
Rock Creek in Block 3, JOSEPHINE PANKEY'S SECOND ADDITION
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Except the parts thereof of said streets and alleys lying
within 100 feet of the center line of Rock Creek.
SECTION II. The rights now held by any public utility com-
pany, under the laws of the State of Arkansas or under grants
heretofore made by the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to use the
streets and alleys as described above in Section 1, for the loca-
tion and operation of lines and facilities for the furnishing
of public utility services shall not be abrogated, diminished or
changed by the enactment of this Ordinance, and utility easements
now in effect are specifically excepted from this closing.
SECTION III. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the Deed Records of said
County.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
