ORDINANCE NO. 12,648
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 -28 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A FIRE DISTRICT AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
SECTION 1. Section 13 -28 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE IV. FIRE DISTRICT.
Section 13 -28. Established.

There is hereby created within the city one (1) fire district as follows:
(1) District. The following paragraphs define the various segments of District 1:
(a) Begin at McLean Street and the Arkansas River and extend south to a
point half -way between Sixth and Seventh Streets, thence west to the west
right -of -way line of Interstate Highway No. 30, thence southeasterly
along said west right -of -way line of Interstate 30 to the north right-
of -way line of East 9th Street, thence west along East 9th Street to
the alley east of Scott Street; thence south to 19th Street; thence
west to the alley west of Main Street, north to 13th Street, west to
Broadway, north to the north right -of -way line of Interstate No. 630,
west along said line to High Street, north to Third Street and west
along said street to the Missouri Pacific right -of -way line; thence
northeasterly along said right -of -way line to the Arkansas River;
thence easterly along the Arkansas River to McLean Street, the point
of beginning.
(b) That area of land lying within one - hundred -forty ( 140 ) feet north
of the north right -of -way line and one - hundred -forty ( 140 ) feet
south of the south right -of -way line, parallel with and adjacent to
the right -of -way line of Kavanaugh Boulevard from Walnut Street to
Monroe Street.
(c) That area of land lying within one - hundred -fifty (150) feet north of
of the north right -of -way line and one - hundred -fifty (150) feet south
of the south right -of -way line, parallel with, and adjacent to, the
right -of -way line of Asher Avenue from the west right -of -way line of
Oak Street west to the west line of NEk of the SEk of Section 13 -
T -1 -N, R -13 -W, except for the south one - hundred -fifty (150) feet of
Block Two (2) and the south one - hundred -fifty (150) feet of the east

thirty -seven and two- tenths (37.2) feet of Block Three (3) Requa's
Suburban Park, an addition to the City of Little Rock, Pulaski
County, Arkansas.
(d) Beginning at a point on the center line on West 28th Street one-
hundred -fifty (150) feet west of the west right -of -way line of
University Avenue, thence run southwesterly along a line to a point
in the center of the intersection of Fairmont Drive and Lakeshore
Drive, thence run easterly along the center line of Lakeshore Drive
to a point one - hundred -fifty (150) feet west of the west right -of-
way line of University Avenue, thence run south along the line one -
hundred -fifty (150) feet west of and parallel to the west right -of-
way line of University Avenue to a point seven - hundred seventeen (717)
feet north of the north right -of -way line of Asher Avenue, thence run
west to the northeast corner of Block Two of Requa's Suburban Park
Addition, thence south to a point one - hundred -fifty (150) feet north'of the
north right -of -way line of Asher Avenue, thence run east along the
line one - hundred -fifty (150) feet north and parallel to the north
right -of -way line of Asher Avenue to a point one - thousand -four hundred
(1,400) feet east of the east right -of -way line of University Avenue,
thence north six - hundred (600) feet to a point, thence west to the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue, thence north along the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue to the center line of West 28th
Street, thence west one - hundred -fifty (150) feet to the point of
beginning.
(e) Beginning at a point on the west line of the NEk of the SE'k of Section
13, T -1 -N, R -13 -W, and one - hundred -fifty (150) feet south of the south
right -of -way line of Asher Avenue, thence run south to a point of the
high water mark of Rock Creek, thence run southeasterly along said line
to a point seven - hundred - fifteen (715) feet east of the east right -of-
way line of U.S. Highway 67 -70, thence run north one- thousand - seven-
hundred (1,700) feet to a point one - hundred -fifty (150) feet south of
the south right -of -way line of Asher Avenue, thence run west along a
line one- hundred fifty (150) feet south of and parallel to the south line
of Asher Avenue to the point of Beginning.

(f) Beginning at the northeast corner of Cantrell Road and University
Avenue, thence run east to the west right -of -way 'Line of Fillmore
Street, thence north to the south right -of -way line of "R" Street,
thence east to the west right -of -way line of Taylor Street, thence
run north to the south right -of -way line of Kavanaugh Boulevard,
thence run west to the east right -of -way line of University Avenue,
thence run south to the point of beginning,
(g) Beginning at a point on the south right -of -way line of Lee Avenue and
the west right -of -way line of University Avenue, thence run west along
the south right -of -way line of Lee Avenue to the east right -of -way
line of McKinley Street, thence run south along the east right -of -way
line of McKinley Street extended to the north right -of -way line of
West Capitol Avenue, thence run east along the north right -of -way line
of Capitol Avenue to a point one - hundred -fifty (150) feet west of the
west right -of -way line of University Avenue, thence run south one -
hundred -fifty (150) feet west and parallel to the west right -of -way
line of University Avenue to the south right -of -way line of West 20th
Street, thence west along the south right -of -way line of West 20th
Street to the northeast corner of Lot 41, Point -of -Woods Subdivision;
thence south along the east line of Lots 41 through 49 to a point on
the north line of Lot 51, Point -of -Woods Subdivision, thence east along
the north line of Lots 51 -59, Point -of -Woods Subdivision to the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue; thence north along the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue to the north right -of -way line
of West 20th Street; thence east along the north right -of -way line on
West 20th Street to a point one - hundred -fifty (150) feet east of the
east right -of -way line of University Avenue, thence north one- hundred-
fifty (150) feet east and parallel to the east right -of -way line of
University Avenue to a point on the south right -of -way line of "B" Street;
thence- west along the south right -of -way line of "B" Street to the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue; thence north along the west
right -of -way line of University Avenue to the point'of'beginning.
(h) Beginning at the intersection of the north right -of -way line of Cantrell
Road and the east right -of -way line of Kavanaugh Boulevard thence north

and west along the east and north right -of -way line of Kavanaugh
Boulevard thence north and west along the east and north right -of -way
line of Kavanaugh Boulevard to the east right -of -way line of
Harrison Street, thence north one - hundred -forty (140) feet, thence east
to a point one - hundred -forty (140) feet east of the east right -of -way
line of Van Buren Street, thence south to the north right -of -way line
of Cantrell Road, thence west one- hundred -forty (140) feet along the
north right -of -way line of Cantrell Road to the point of beginning.
(i) Beginning at a point on the center line of Wright Avenue at its
intersection with the center line of Jones Street, thence north along
the center line of Jones Street to a point which is one - hundred -fifty
(150) feet north of the north right -of -way line of Wright Avenue,
thence run east along a line one - hundred -fifty (150) feet north of and
parallel to the north right -of -way line of Wright Avenue to a point
on the center line of High Street, thence run south along the center
line of High Street to a point which is one- hundred -fifty (150) feet
south of the south right -of -way line of Wright Avenue, thence run west
along a line parallel to and one - hundred -fifty (150) feet south of the
south right -of -way line of Wright Avenue to a point which would be the
center line of Jones Street if extended southeasterly, thence north
along said line to the point of beginning.
(j) Beginning at the southwest corner of Tract No. 1 of Southwest City
Commercial Subdivision; thence run northerly along the east right -of -way
line of Geyer Springs Road to the Northwest corner of Tract No. 2 of
Southwest City Commercial Subdivision; thence run easterly along the
south right -of -way line of I -30 to the northeast corner of Tract "D"
of Southwest City Commercial Subdivision, thence run southerly along
the east line of Tract "D" of Southwest City Commercial Subdivision to
the southeast corner of Tract "D "; thence south 890 03' east 358.0 feet;
thence south 00 57' west 319.6 feet; thence north 890 03' west 16 feet;
thence south 00 57' west 298.4 feet; thence north 890 03' west and
parallel to the north right -of -way line of Dreher Lane 493.8 feet to a
point on the east line of Tract No. 1 of Southwest City Commercial Sub-
division; thence southerly along the east line of Tract No. 1 to the

southeast corner of Tract No. 1; thence westerly along the south
line of Tract No. 1 to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage.
