ORDINANCE NO. 12.770
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 43 -28 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK PERTAINING TO
THE USE CLASSIFICATION OF AREAS OF LAND ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Section 43 -28 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining
to the use classification for lands annexed to the City of Little
Rock is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 43 -28. Annexed territory.
Hereafter, when lands are annexed to the City of Little Rock
and such annexation becomes final, the separate parcels therein
shall automatically and simultaneously thereavith be treated
for all purposes as having that use classification of the most
restrictive district consistent and compatible with the use to
which each such separate parcel is then devoted until a zoning
plan of the annexed area is prepared and adopted. The Planning
Commission and Board of Directors shall proceed diligently to
none the new annexed territory after a public hearing, of which
due notice has been given.
SECTION 2. It is hereby found that the existing use to which
land annexed to the City is being devoted should not be disrupted
until a plan of the area annexed is prepared and adopted; now there-
fore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
