AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER XIII OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
BY ADDING SECTION 13 -29 PROVIDING FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPECIAL FIRE DISTRICT;AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The following creates and sets out the boundres
of a special fire district which shall be known as District 2
as follows:
(a) Begin at the intersection of the north right -of -way
line of Ninth Street and west right -of -way line
of Interstate No. 30, thence north along said west
right -of -way line of Interstate No. 30 to a point
half -way between Second and Third Streets, thence
West to the west right -of -way line of Rock Street,
thence south along Rock Street to the north right -of-
way line of Capitol Avenue, thence west along Capitol
Avenue to the west right -of -way line of Cumberland
Street, thence south along Cumberland Street to the
north right -of -way line of Eighth Street, thence
west along Eighth Street to the west right -of -way
line of Scott Street, thence south along Scott
Street to the south right -of -way of Interstate
No. 630, thence northwesterly along said line to the
east right -of -way line of Broadway, thence south
to the north right -of -way line of 13th Street, thence
east along 13th Street to a point half -way between
Louisiana and Main Streets, thence southerly along
the line equi- distant between the rights -of -way of
Main and Louisiana Streets to the north right -of -way
line of 19th Street, thence east along said right-
of-way line to a point, said point being equi- distant
between the rights -of -way of Scott and Cumberland

Streets, thence north along a line equi- distant
between the rights -of -way of Scott and Cumberland
Streets to a point on the north right -of -way line
of West Ninth Street, thence along the north right-
of-way line of West Ninth Street to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. That the following rules shall govern construc-
tion and /or remodeling or conversion of buildings located
within the hereinabove described Special Fire District;
(a) New construction within the Special Fire District
must comply with the Little Rock Building Code
as well as any other building regulation of the City
of Little Rock as if said new - construction were not
located within the boundaries of any Fire District.
(b) Any improvement, remodeling or conversion of use
of any building located within the Special Fire
District as hereinabove set out shall be made to
comply with the Little Rock Building Code or other
building regulation of the City of Little Rock as if
said improvement, remodeling or conversion of use
were not located within the boundaries of any Fire
District, or be fully equipped with an approved
automatic sprinkler system, subject to the further
approval of the building exits by the City of Little
Rock Building Official and Fire Chief.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
