ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT POR-
TION OF SOUTH CROSS STREET LOCATED BETWEEN WEST 28th STREET
AND WEST 29th STREET WHICH PORTION IS WITHIN LOT 1 OF ALEX
ROBERTSON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 6th day of March , 1974,
asking the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon that portion of South Cross
Street as described below, which portion of South Cross Street was dedicated
to the public by Plat and Bill of Assurance dated April 24, 1919 and, appearing
of record in Pulaski County, Arkansas, Plat Book No. 2 at Page 25, in the
office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, after due notice, the Board of Directors has, at the time and
place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the
question and has ascertained that the portion of South Cross Street described
below has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as a street; that all of
the owners of property abutting upon that portion of South Cross Street to be
vacated, abandoned and closed have filed with the Board of Directors written
consent to such vacation, abandonment and closing; that said portion of South
Cross Street as described below is no longer needed or required for corporate
purposes or for use by the general public or by adjoining owners in that a reloca-
tion of the right of way for South Cross Street has been provided for in the
Neighborhood Development Project, ARK A -9, by the filing of a Plat and Bill
of Assurance dedicating the right of way therefor; and accordingly the public
interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of the
portion of South Cross Street described below;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the. rights of the public
generally, in and to that portion of South Cross Street located between West
28th Street and West 29th Street which portion is within Lot 1 of Alex Robertson
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, more particularly described in
Plat and Bill of Assurance dated April 24, 1919 appearing of record in Pulaski
County, Arkansas Plat Book No. 2 at Page 25 as follows:
All that part of Lot One (1) of Alex Robertson's Plat
of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of the North-
west Quarter of Section Fifteen (15) , Township One (1)
North, Range Twelve (12) West, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southerly line and side of lot
distant one hundred forty feet (140) westerly from the
southeast- corner of Lot One (1), running thence worth
one hundred thirty -two (132) feet; thence west thirty -
one and 25/100 (31.25) feet; thence south one hundred
thirty -two (132) feet, and to the southerly line or side
of Lot One (1) thirty -one and 25/100 feet (31.25) to point
or place of beginning; all of said land being in Pulaski
County, State of Arkansas,
and that the ownership thereof shall vest in the owners of the abutting property,
subject, however, to any public utility easements located therein.
Section 2. A copy of this Ordinance,duly certified by the City Clerk,
shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas and
recorded in the Deed Records of the County.
Section. 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage.
