ORDINANCE NO. 12,909
AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
THE PROPOSED RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENTS
OF GEYER SPRINGS ROAD INCLUDING RELATED STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES
AND FOR CERTAIN TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS RELATED TO THE
IMPROVEMENTS OF GEYER SPRINGS ROAD; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby condemn for
street right of way and storm drainage purposes the following parcels
of real property lying:in the City of Little Rock, County of Pulaski,
State of Arkansas, to -wit:
Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 31, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, Pulaski County,
Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Southeast corner of the Northeast Quarter
of the Northeast Quarter of Section 36, said corner being
at existing Centerline Station 99 +48.88 of Geyer Springs
Road; thence North 020 08' East along said existing center-
line a distance of 48.12 feet to a point; thence South
870 52' East a distance of 30.00 feet to a point on the
existing easterly right of way line of said road and also
a point on the proposed northerly right of way line of Young
Road and the point of beginning; thence South 510 40' 10"
East along said proposed right of way line a distance of
36.65 feet to a point; thence South 850 10' 05" East along
said proposed right of way line a distance of 44.11 feet to
a point; thence South 740 52' 54" East along said proposed
right of way line a distance of 199.42 feet to a point of

connection with the widening and improvements of Geyer Springs Road
and related drainage projects permanent easements over and across
the following described parcels of land in the City of Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:

Starting at the Northeast corner of Section 1, said corner
being the intersection of the existing Centerline of
Geyer Springs Road and the existing Centerline of Baseline
Road; thence North 87° 44' West along the existing Center-
line of Baseline Road a distance of 463.91 feet to a point;
thence South 020 24' West a distance of 40.00 feet to a
point on the proposed southerly right of way line of said
road for the point of beginning; thence continue South 020
24' West a distance of 3.00 feet to a point; thence North

connection with the widening and improvements of the right of way
and related drainage facilities of Geyer Springs Road in the City
of Little Rock, temporary easements for construction purposes
over and across the following described lands in the City of Little
Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:

+SECTION 4. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed
to file in the proper court proceedings for the condemnation of the
property described in Sections 1, 2, and 3 hereof, and to secure an
order of such court permitting the City to take immediate possession
of said property upon posting a bond in an amount to be determined
by the Court and to do any and all other things necessary in order to
obtain immediate possession of said property.
SECTION 5. Geyer Springs Road in its present condition is
inadequate to accommodate the flow of vehicular traffic utilizing
and attempting to utilize said street, thereby causing congestion
of traffic thereon and on streets adjacent thereto; and the proposed
improvement of said street is designed to relieve the congestion of
we
traffic thereby enhancing the health, peace and safety of the
citizens of the City of Little Rock. Now, therefore, an emergency
exists and this Ordinance being necessary to protect the health,
peace and safety shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
