AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
CONTRACT WITH THE BUREAU OF THE CENSUS OF THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR A SPECIAL CENSUS
FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK INCLUDING THE AREA
APPROVED FOR ANNEXATION ON MAY 3, 1973; APPRO-
PRIATING FUNDS TO DEFRAY THE COST OF SUCH SPECIAL
CENSUS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized, acting
for and on behalf of the City of Little Rock to contract with
the Bureau of the Census of the United States of America for
the purpose of taking a special census in the City of Little
Rock at the earliest possible time including the area annexed
to the City of Little Rock by vote of the electors on May 3,
1973, it being understood that the total population of the City
is directly related to the amount of State turnback funds re-
ceived from the State of Arkansas and the City's allocation of
Federal Revenue funds.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated from Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds the sum of $59,000.00 to be used together
with funds heretofore appropriated for census purposes to defray
the total cost of providing this special census.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
