ORDINANCE NO. 12,835
ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING, ABANDONING, AND
CLOSING PORTIONS OF 10TH, 11TH, 12TH, GEYER, AND
LAST STREETS, THE ALLEY IN CLEAGE' S SUBDIVISION, AND
THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 9 and 10 OF HANGER'S ADDITION
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the
13th
day of July, 1973,
asking the Board of Directors to vacate, abandon, and close those portions
of the streets and alleys described below; and
WHEREAS, after due notice, the Board of Directors has, at the time
and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on
the question and has ascertained that the streets and alleys described below
have heretofore been dedicated to the public use as streets and alleys, as
herein described; that all of the owners of property abutting upon those
portions of the streets and alleys to be vacated, abandoned, and closed
that have at some time actually been used as streets and alleys have filed
with the Board of Directors their written consent to such vacation, abandon-
ment, and closing; that such vacation, abandonment, and closing will have
the effect of allowing those portions of said streets and alleys which abut
lands owned by petitioners and which can be better used for the public and
corporate purposes of redevelopment of the areas adjacent thereto to be used
for such purposes; that that portion of said streets and alleys that does not
abut lands owned by the petitioners is not required for corporate purposes;
and that such vacation, abandonment, and closing will better provide for
the public welfare, safety, comfort, and convenience of the inhabitants of
the City of Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, under its powers
including those set forth in Ark. Stat. Ann. §19 -2304 (Reel. 1968), hereby

vacates, abandons and closes the streets and alleys designated as follows:
East 10th Street east of west boundary of East View
Terrace to its end at the east boundary of East View Terrace
(same as east boundary of A. C. Read's Addition)
East 11th Street east of Hanger Street to its end at
the east boundary of East View Terrace (same as east boundary
of Cleage's Subdivision)
East 12th Street east of Hanger Street to its end at the
east boundary of East View Terrace (same as east boundary of
Hanger's Addition)
Last Street in A. C. Read's Addition and in Cleage's
Subdivision
Alleys in Blocks 9 and 10 of Hanger's Addition
Alley in Cleage's Subdivision
Geyer Street north of 13th Street to its end at 10th Street
subject, however, to any public utility easements located in said streets
and alleys.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby relinquishes
unto the abutting landowners, their successors, heirs, and assigns all of
the right, title, and interest of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and of its
inhabitants and the public generally, in respect to said streets and alleys
which are vacated, abandoned and closed as aforesaid; provided, however,
the City of Little Rock retains all right, title, and interest in said streets
and alleys accruing to and vesting in it as the owner of property abutting
streets and alleys that are vacated, abandoned, and closed.
SECTION 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and
recorded in the Deed Records of the County.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage.
