ORDINANCE NO 13,078
AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY
WITHIN THE PROPOSED RIGHT OF WAY OF JOHN BARROW ROAD FOR
RECONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENTS OF SAID ROAD, INCLUDING
STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES; PROVIDING FOR A TEMPORARY CON-
STRUCTION EASEMENT; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE
CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby condemn for
street right of way and storm drainage purposes the following
parcel of real property lying in the City of Little Rock, County
of Pulaski, State of Arkansas, to -wit:
Part of the SW4 NW4, Section 2, T -1 -N, R -13 -W, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, now in the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the NE corner

in a northwesterly direction along the arc of a curve
to the right having a radius of 254.88' for a chord
length of 67.9' by a deflection angle of 800 40' 42"
to the right from the last described course to a point,
said point being 55.41' southerly from the north line
of Mobil Oil Corp. property; thence in a northerly
direction for 36.6' by a deflection angle of 70 39' 18"
to the right from the last described course; thence
in a northwesterly direction along the arc of a curve
to the left having a radius of 19.0' for a chord length
of 26.73' by a deflection angle of 440 42' 23" to the
left from the last described course to a point on the
north line of Mobil Oil Corp. property; thence easterly
along the north line of Mobil Oil Corp. property by a
deflection angle to the right of 1350 17' 37" from the
last described course for 58.81' to the point of
beginning containing 4,788.49 square feet, more or less.
ALSO:
A construction easement five feet (5') wide parallel
to and west of the west line of the above described parcel of
property, said easement to continue throughout the time re-
quired in the con struction project.

SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to file in the proper court, proceedings for the con-
demnation of the property described in Section 1 hereof, and
to secure an order of such court permitting the City to take
immediate possession of said property upon posting a bond in
an amount to be determined by the Court and to do any and all
other things necessary in order to obtain immediate possession
of said property.
SECTION 3. John Barrow Road in its present condition is
inadequate to accommodate the flow of vehicular traffic utilizing
and attempting to utilize said street, thereby causing congestion
of traffic thereon and streets adjacent thereto; and the proposed
improvement of said street is designed to relieve the congestion
of traffic thereby enhancing the health, peace and safety of the
citizens of the City of Little Rock, therefore, an emergency
exists and this Ordinance being necessary to protect the health,
peace and safety shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
