AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF MUNICIPAL
PUBLIC DEFENDER; PRESCRIBING DUTIES; APPROPRIATING
FUNDS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The position of Municipal Public Defender is
hereby created to be officed in City Hall. The duties to be
performed by said Municipal Public Defender shall include
the defense of indigents in the Little Rock Municipal Court
and such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by
the Board of Directors and the City Manager. Said position
shall be non -civil service status.
SECTION 2. The sum of $10,000.00 is hereby appropriated
from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to provide
for salary and miscellaneous offices expenses for the remainder
of the calendar year 1975.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
