HomeMy WebLinkAbout130500 M 0 A b a) b c a� ORDINANCE NO 13,050 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE OF 1975 SUBJECT TO THE AMENDMENTS HEREIN PROVIDED, AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. There is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of the City of Little Rock, that certain Code known as the National Electrical Code of 1975 as prepared by the National Fire Protection Association except as amended by the other provisions of this Ordinance, three (3) copies of which, having been on file in the Office of the City Clerk for the time and in the manner prescribed by Act 267, Acts of Arkansas, 1949, and shall so remain on file at all times hereafter. SECTION 2. Section 210.8(a) of the said 1975 National Electrical Code pertaining to ground -fault protection is hereby amended to read as follows: "210.8 Ground -Fault Circuit Protection (a) Residential Occupancies. For residential occupancies all 120 volt, single - phase, 15- and 20- ampere recep- tacle outlets installed outdoors and in bathrooms when the outdoor receptacle is installed, shall have ground - fault circuit protection for personnel. When the out- door receptacle is not installed, bathroom receptacle does not have to be protected by ground -fault circuit protection. Such ground -fault circuit protection may be provided for other circuits, locations, and occupancies, and where used, will provide additional protection against line -to- ground shock hazard." SECTION 3. Section 210.25(b) of the said 1975 National Electrical Code is hereby amended by deleting the fifth (5th) unnumbered paragraph therein, which reads as follows: °FOr a one - family dwelling, at least one receptacle outlet shall be installed outdoors." SECTION 4. Violation of the provisions of this Code shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of Section 12 -5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock. SECTION 5.
