AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS 10 -18 AND
10 -41 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES AND ABOL-
ISHING THE FRATERNAL AND OAKLAND CEMETERY
BOARDS AS NOW CONSTITUTED TO BE EFFECTIVE
JUNE 1, 1975; CREATING THE OAKLAND- FRATERNAL
CEMETERY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS FOR
BOARD MEMBERS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Effective June 1, 1975, the Oakland and
Fraternal Cemetery Boards as constituted pursuant to Sec-
tions 10 -18 and 10 -41 of the Code of Ordinances shall be
abolished and the said sections of the Code repealed in
their entirety.
SECTION 2. Effective June 1, 1975 there is hereby
created the Oakland- Fraternal Cemetery Board and both Oak-
land and Fraternal Cemetery shall be under the control and
charge of said Board consisting of seven (7) members who
shall be lot owners in either or both of such cemeteries.
Members of the said Board shall be appointed by the City
Manager subject to approval of the Board of Directors. The
terms of the members shall be for three years and until their
successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies for any
unexpired term shall be filled in the same manner as herein
provided for the original appointment of members;and appointees
to such vacancies shall serve the unexpired term of his pre-
decessor.
The initial Board shall be appointed to staggered terms
of three members for one year and four membbrazi for two years;
thereafter, all successor appointees shall serve for three
year terms.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
