ORDINANCE NO 12,971
AN ORDINANCE AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR THE DEMOLITION
OF CERTAIN HOUSES IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK WHICH
HAVE BEEN CONDEMNED; APPROPRIATING FUNDS; AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids
received pursuant thereto according to law for the demolition
of certain condemned houses within the City of Little Rock;
and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidders
have been determined and it is the desire of the Board of Direc-
tors to award contracts for said demolition to the lowest res-
ponsive and responsible bidders. However, it is understood
that under no circumstances whatsoever shall any demolition
of
any house be commenced without prior written authorization
from
the Community Development Department subsequent to the awarding
of contracts on specific individual property.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The lowest responsive and responsible bids
on
contracts for the demolition of certain condemned houses in
the
City of Little Rock are hereby accepted for the demolition
of
houses at the addresses all set forth as follows:

SECTION 2. The sum of $30,000.00 is hereby appropriated
from the unexpended balance of the General Fund to be he deposited
into a special fund for payment of demolition contracts when the
specific owner thereof does not voluntarily accomplish razing and
removal of the condemned improvements.
SECTION 3. Upon the completion of the demolition of said
improvements in accordance with bid specifications on file in the
office of the Purchasing Department and in accordance with the
appropriate ordinances of the City of Little Rock, the City Manager
and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to exe-
cute the necessary warrant or warrants in payment of the said
contract prices.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its Passage.
