HomeMy WebLinkAbout13206i ORDINANCE NO 13,206 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULES FOR BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING AND RELATED WORK PERFORMED IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; REPEALING ALL TECHNICAL CODE, ORDINANCE AND CODE OF ORDINANCE PROVISIONS IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The following is hereby established as permit fee schedules for building, electrical, plumbing and related work in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: t 11 -2- I BUILDING FEES On all buildings, structures, alterations, or work, requiring a building permit, as set forth in Section 105, fees shall be paid as required at the time of filing an application, in accordance with the following schedule. (a) New Construction (1) "One and two - family dwellings" On all new single and two family dwelling construction, building, electrical and plumbing fees shall be as follows: Building Fee Electrical Fee Plumbing Fee $ .02 /sq. ft. $ .02 /sq. ft. $ .02 /sq. ft. under roof under roof (includes under roof (Includes fee for fee for construction central heating unit) meter) (2) "All other occupancies" a. Electrical and Plumbing Fees As set forth in separate tables. (c) Barricade Fees The area of public property on which fees shall be paid shall be that space enclosed within and occupied by any barricade, fence, covered walkway, or tunnel. Charges shall be made by the day, and any fractioncf a day, on the following basis: for public space occupied - two tenths (2/10) of one cent per square foot, with a minimum fee of $4.00 per day. (d) House Moving Fees Moving of building or structure $25.00 Moving of building on same lot 5.00 Inspection fee inside City 10.00 Inspection fee outside City 25.00 -3- (e) Demolition of building or structure The fee for the demolition or razing of a building or structure shall be at the rata of one (1) cent per square foot of floor area. The minimum permit fee shall be ten (10.00) dollars. (f) Gasoline tank - new or replacement $15.00 (g) Gasoline pump - new or replacement $10.00 (h) Elevators $15.00 (i) Fences, awnings and all other construction projecting more than one (1) foot above the ground and NOT SPECIFICALLY covered by the above scheduled fees shall be charged at the rate of Item C above; "alterations and repairs ". (j) Permit fees for churches and other non- profit charitable institutions shall be based on schedule of fees provided for "one and two family dwellings ". (k) Minimum Fee. The minimum fee for any permit shall be $4.00 (1) Investigative Fee. In those instances wherein the information submitted to obtain a permit is inadequate or incomplete, or work has begun without a permit, or an inspection is required' to determine the "on- site" conditions prior to issuance or denial of a permit, the Building Official may charge the owner an investigation fee of $10.00. The payment of the investigation fee shall not exempt any person from compliance with the provisions of the Code, or from any penalty prescribed by law. (m) Reinspection Fee. A reinspection fee of $5.00 will be charged when an additional trip is made by an inspector, due to rejections, lock -outs, insufficient information as to location of building or structure, work not ready for inspection, or any other cause due to neglect or failure on the part of the applicant. r4- II ELECTRICAL FEES All applications for permits shall be accompanied by the inspection fees as hereinafter provided for. A minimum of $3.00 will be required for each permit. HOW TO BE MADE When a project consists of more than one structure, each separate structure shall have a separate electrical permit. For purposes of determining where separate permits are needed, buildings not having a common attic space, connected only by a canopy, walkway or similar connection shall be deemed to be separate buildings. For special equipment or apparatus for which no inspection fees are fixed by this article, a charge of $1.00 per 1,000 watts or less consumed by such equipment or apparatus shall be made. When a temporary electrical construction meter is desired during the course of construction or alteration of a building, temporary permit will be issued at the regular permit fee. Before any power is supplied to the permanent distribution system of a building under construction, written notice must be submitted to this office noting the length of time the temporary power will be needed before the final electrical inspection is made, the understanding that the structure will not be occupied until after the final inspection, and that the party submitting the request will assume liability of any damage incurred as a result of disconnection of power from the building as a result of a violation of this ordinance. The time limit on temporary power being furnished to the building will be determined on the basis of need, not to exceed thirty (30) days. An extension of time may be granted only by special permission. In case the electrical inspector is required to make more than one trip for the purpose of inspecting any work on account of violation of rules, wrong address, or any other irregularities caused by the master elec- trician or his agents, a charge of five ($5.00) dollars shall be made for each additional trip. (g) EXAMINATION Examination fee for master electrician shall be $15.00 Renewal fee for master electrician shall be 7.50 Examination fee for journeyman electrician shall be 10.00 Renewal fee for journeyman shall be 5.00 Examination fee for specialist refrigeration electrician shall be . . . . . . . . . 7.50 Renewal fee for specialist refrigeration electrician shall be . 3.00 Examination fee for specialist sign electrician shall be 7.50 Renewal fee for specialist sign electrician shall be 3.00 Examination fee for maintenance electrician shall be. 7.50 Renewal fee for maintenance electrician shall be 3.00 Homeowner's examination fee - - - 5.00 7- III PLUMBING FEES The following fees shall be paid to the City Collector as regulated by this City: (1) For each plumbing fixture outlet or appliance $2.00 The term "plumbing fixture outlet" as used for permit means each water closet, sink, urinal, sand trap, floor drain, beer or soda fountain, lavatory or basin, laundry or wash tray, bathtub, shower, drinking fountain, bar, washing machine, hose cabinet or hose rack, fire pump, sewer ejector, cooling tower, sill cock, dishwasher, dental unit, hub drain, and any other plumbing element commonly known as a plumbing fixture. Each such "plumbing fixture outlet" shall include the necessary faucets and accessories customarily included with the plumbing fixture. The provisions of all technical codes, ordi- nances and Code of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this.ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
