AN ORDINANCE RECOGNIZING RECEIPT OF A SUBGRANT
AWARD FROM THE ARKANSAS COMMISSION ON CRIME AND
LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF A VOLUNTEER
COORDINATOR TO ASSIST IN THE MUNICIPAL COURT
PROBATION PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE NECESSARY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS RELATED
TO ACCEPTANCE OF THE AWARD; APPROPRIATING FUNDS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, through its Municipal
Court Judge, made application for a Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration (LEAA) grant for funding of a Volunteer Coordinator
position within the Courts First Offender Probation Program;
and
WHEREAS, said application was approved continuing
a cooperative funding formula of 90% Federal LEAA, 5% State
CACCLE), and 5% City; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager, acting within his powers,
did enter into a Subgrant Award Agreement with ACCLE, and per
said agreement formally authorized the budgeting addition of
the necessary personnel for effectuation of this program on or
after April 15, 1977 as staffing could be accomplished.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The actions and agreements heretofore
mentioned as entered into by the City Manager, we hereby ratify,
including creation and staffing of one Volunteer Coordinator
position. This ratification is to be retroactive in all cases
to the date such actions and agreements were executed.
