AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $85,516 FROM
THE 1977 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TO BE
USED FOR THE THIRTEENTH STREET BRIDGE
PROJECT; ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD CONTRACTS FOR
THE THIRTEENTH STREET BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT AND FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE
FLETCHER BRANCH LIBRARY; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids
received pursuant thereto are attached as exhibits for the
following:
EXHIBIT A. Contract for the Thirteenth Street bridge
construction; and
EXHIBIT B. Modifications to the Fletcher Branch
Library; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidders
have been determined, and it is the desire of the Board of
Directors to authorize the issuance of contracts for such
purposes to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders;
and
WHEREAS, the appropriation of an additional $85,516 is
necessary to supplement funds already appropriated by the
board for the Thirteenth Street Bridge Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. $85,516 is hereby appropriated from the
1977 Capital Improvement Fund to be used for the Thirteenth
Street Bridge Project.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with the bidders named on the attached
exhibits for total contract prices as set out; the funds for
which have been allocated in the 1980 budget and
appropriated herein.
SECTION 3. All items and work purchased herein shall
comply with the bidding specifications. Upon receipt of the
items or work or from time to time as may be required, the
City Manager and the Director of Finance are hereby
authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrants in
payment of the contract price.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.

handicapped persons.
DISCUSSION:
It is recommended that the low bid
submitted by Township Builders for
$10,890.00 be accepted with a not to exceed
limit of $12,000. One third of this sum
will be reimbursed by the Little Rock
Public Library.
