AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE SUBURBAN DEVELOPMENT PLAN
PREPARED BY TEAM FOUR, INC. AND THE OFFICE OF
COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AS A POLICY GUIDE FOR LAND
USE DECISIONS IN THE SUBURBAN AREA AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a Suburban Development Plan has been prepared by
Team Four, Inc. and the Office of Comprehensive Planning; and
WHEREAS, the Suburban Development Plan consists of the
colored map described as the "Summary & Land Use Plan" and the
Phases I, II, and III technical reports; and
WHEREAS, public and private agencies within Pulaski County
have been contacted for their comments; and
WHEREAS, the Suburban Development Plan has been reviewed
and recommended for approval by the Planning Commission.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
SECTION 1. Preamble
We, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
in recognition that a function of Government in a free society is
to.
-- Recognize that growth is a natural order of life;
-- Protect the rights of all citizens in a growing
society;
-- Encourage creative innovation to improve liveability;
- -And obey its given responsibility to use reason and
prudence in regulation of all citizens;
do hereby direct that this ordinance and its administration fulfill
this function.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors hereby accepts the
"Suburban Development Plan" as a policy guide for future land use
decisions in the area, recognizing that the Plan does not
automatically grant or deny rezonings.
SECTION 3. The Planning Commission is hereby directed to
use the "Suburban Development Plan" as a guide to be used for
the considerations of rezoning applications in the area..
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
