AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, CITY CLERK OR
ASSISTANT CITY CLERK, ACTING FOR AND ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO DO ALL THINGS, EXECUTE
ALL INSTRUMENTS AND DOCUMENTS, AND OTHERWISE TAKE
ALL ACTION REQUIRED TO THE REALIZATION OF THE RIGHTS,
DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY IN CONNECTION
WITH AND PERTAINING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CIVIC -
CONVENTION HOTEL CENTER; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The Mayor, City Clerk or Assistant City Clerk, for and on behalf of
the City of Little Rock be and they are hereby authorized to do all things, execute
all instruments and documents and otherwise take all action required to the reali-
zation of the rights, duties and obligations of the City of Little Rock in the planned
development of the Civic - Convention Hotel Center on the site bounded by La Harpe
Boulevard on the North, Main Street on the East, Markham Street on the South, and
Ashley Street on the West.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That there is found and declared to be an immediate need for the
promoting and development of tourist industry and tourist activities in the City in
order to enhance the well being of the City and its inhabitants and the authority
granted in Section 1 of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the accomplishing
of these public benefits and purposes. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency
exists and this ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect immediately and after its
passage.
