HomeMy WebLinkAbout13549I RESOLUTION NO. 13,549 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY 4 FOR AND ENTER INTO GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH THE 5 ARKANSAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION FOR 6 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 7 BLOCK GRANT DISASTER FUNDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) has invited the City to 10 apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Disaster Recovery Funds for a project to 11 create jobs through the Easter Seals Arkansas, Inc.; and, 12 WHEREAS, it is necessary that certain conditions be met as part of the application requirement; and, 13 WHEREAS, as a result of the public hearing process, the City of Little Rock has identified and 14 prioritized the community economic development needs; and, 15 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined it is in the best interest of the City and its 16 inhabitants to apply for a $100,000.00 grant from the AEDC for the Easter Seals Project; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager, or Assistant City Manager, as a Signatory Agent, or the successor of 20 said Agent, is hereby authorized and directed to make application for assistance under the CDBG Disaster 21 Grant Program administered by AEDC and to execute agreements and instruments issued or made pursu- 22 ant thereto on behalf of the City from time to time. 23 Section 2. The City hereby pledges its full support for the project and authorizes the City Manager to 24 initiate the actions needed to fully implement this project. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 26 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 27 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 28 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitution- 29 al were not originally a part of the resolution. 30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are incon- 31 sistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such incon- 32 sistency.
