EXPRESSING THE SSNOE OF '1hii COuiVCIL ON THE JITNEY MATTER.
WHEREAS, This Council has recently had under
consideration the matter of calling an election for the purpose
of asking people to vote whether they wanted jitneys on all
i1 streets of the city, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance Ivo. 2338, passed august 7, 1916,
provides that jitneys may be run on streets of the city except
on train Street from i:arkham to Tenth Streets, and on Markham
atreet from Louisiana to Scott ,btreets, which section is in the
closely congested district, and
WHEREAS, In the opinion of this City Council, the
arrangement devised under Ordinance ho. 2338 is fair and
equitable and should be adhered to, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
li That the members of this Council hereby express the
conviction that Ordinance No. 2338 should be enforced and that
no amendments thereto, or substitutes therefor, be given further
consideration at this time.
