r' EEZaLAS, the Interstate Commerce Cormission has prescribed in I� C. C.
Docket 13535 and associated cases, freight rates from the manufacturing
districts on and east of the I:Iis s issippi River and on and ITorth of the
Missouri River to Little Rock, Arkansas, effective July 14, 1928,
which are generally much higher than in effect prior to that time, and
!`!L EAS, there has been no siraaltaneous change in the freight rates from
the same points of origin to St. Louis, 11issouri - 11-emphis, Tennessee -
Helena, Arkansas and Mississippi River points Sout'ri thereof, resulting
in the rates to Little Rock being prejudicial to Little Rock and creating
a discrimination against Little Rock with preference to the other points
named, to the detriment of the industrial development of Little Rock,
Arkansas, and
} EAS, the Chamber of Commerce of Little Rock, Arkansas is filing; a
formal coin ?laint with the Interstate Commmerce Comnissi.on for an investiga-
tion of the rates to Little Rock on the one hard and Mississippi River
Crossings on the other, seeking to have the rates relatively adjusted,
this complaint and the freiEat rate situation Having been e_xplained to
the City Council in session on the i,j _ day of August 1923.
BE IT =SWIM, that the City of Little Rock should be and is hereby
made a complainant party to this cot7alaint and the I.;ayor of Little Rock
is hereby authorized to attach his tignature to sae as Ia-
,�or upon behalf
of the City of Little Rock, and further to offer the services of the
City Attorney and City Engineer or other city officials as witnesses to
present testimony in behalf of the City of Little Rock at the hearing
before the Interstate Commerce Cormnission, or its examiners, when held,
and the city officials hereinbefore named are hereby authorized to so
testify in behalf of the City of Little Rock if called upon.
