Whereas, the Arkansas Baptist Convention has
indicated its intention of locating Ouachita, College, Central
College, and Mountain Home College at a. point near the center
of population of the state, and
Whereas, it is highly desirable from the standpoint
Baptist
of Little Rock that such Sou-mern 69,1 MU University be located
in or near Little Hock, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that we,the City Council, urge the
Education Commission to give serious consideration to the location
of such a university in or near Little Hock, and
BE I*r Kh,iht;h hESOLVED that we pledge our cooperation
witn the Chamber of Commerce, Young Business Men's Association,
and other organizations in securing the location of such university
in or nea this City. /
