Scougle, a committee was appointed to draft an appropriate resolution, and the conimitt0e, after having consulted, reports the following which was unanimously adopted by the cormlittee appointed by the 'Mayor: The members of the City Council of the City of Little Rock have learned with deep regret the death of M-r. Rufus A. Gladden in Little Rock, ;Irkansas on Monday, July 18th, 1932, at the age of 77 years. Mr. Gladden was a native of the State of Ivl-issouri, having lived most of his life in Springfield where he was engaged as a con- tractor. He had visited his son, T.R.Gladden, a member of this Council for many years, and also his daughter, 'Mrs. I:.J.Herring, in Little Rock on several occasions and had won their respect and esteem and the confidence of the comr.,.unity. Ins. Gladden at the time of his death was survived by three sisters and two brothers: TZrs. Virginia Strange, Mrs. May McCormick, Firs. Effie ':;ard, Mr. A. G. Gladden, Mr. Bob Gladden, Sacramento, Calif. �Iarrensboro, Mo. Warrensboro, 110. Luten, Mo. Luten, Mo. He was also survived by two daughters and one son: Mrs. W.J.Herring, IvSrs. J.W.Jones, mr. J.R.Gladden, 922 ITT. Spruce Str., Little Rock,AJ Kansas City, IV40. Little Rock, Irkansas, and nis widow, hirs. Rufus A. Gladden, and it is therefore, by the committee resolved that the committee feels in the death of 1r. Gladden that it has lost a useful citizen and nis family an affectionate and loving father, and his widow a devoted husband. Therefore, be it resolved by the Committee of the City Council that as a testimony of respect to the deceased, a copy of this resolution be spread upon the records of the Council of the City of Page # 2. Little Rock, and that a copy be transmitted by the secretary to the family of the deceasedt expressing the sympathy of the City Council to the widow and members of the t'amily.
