HomeMy WebLinkAbout13538I RESOLUTION NO. 13,538 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF 4 LITTLE ROCK TO UTILIZE FEDERAL -AID RECREATIONAL FUNDS 5 FOR ROCK CREEK TRAIL EXTENSION; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands Federal -Aid Recreational Trails Funds are available 9 at 80% Federal participation and 20% local match to develop or improve trail facilities on Rock Creek 10 Trail; and, 11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands that Federal -Aid Funds are available for this 12 project on a reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual 13 monetary reimbursement; and, 14 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands that there will be no reimbursement for any work 15 accomplished prior to the issuance by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department of an 16 official Notice to Proceed; and, 17 WHEREAS, this project, using Federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general 18 public and maintained by the applicant; 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including 22 maintenance of this project. 23 Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized and directed to execute all 24 appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above -state project. 25 Section 3. The City pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Little Rock Parks & Recreation 26 Department to cooperate with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate 27 action to implement this project. 28 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 29 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 30 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 31 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 32 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
