RESOLUTION NO. 13,516
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT FOR THE
5 REROOFING OF THE CITY HALL GARAGE; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors adopted Little Rock Resolution ( "LRR ") No. 13,487 (April 17,
9 2012) in which it authorized the City Manager to enter into a contract with Fraley Roofing to replace the
10 roof on the City Hall Garage and a portion of the roof on the Communications Building; and
11 WHEREAS, the original cost to replace the roof on the garage was Forty-Eight Thousand Dollars
12 ($48,000.00), plus tax; and
13 WHEREAS, during the initial stages of the work on the garage it has been determined that there is a
14 significant amount of deteriorated wood that could not have been anticipated when the bid was submitted;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, additional work is required to repair and replace all deteriorated roof joists at the
17 perimeter flat roof and remove and replace the metal coping at the perimeter of the roof, and
18 WHEREAS, the cost of the additional work is Twenty Thousand, Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars
19 ($20,950.00) as reflected in a Change Order submitted by Fraley Roofing; and
20 WHEREAS, the amount of the Change Order exceeds the 10% contingency approved in LRR
21 13,487; and
22 WHEREAS, it is critically important for Fraley Roofing to proceed and complete the replacement of
23 the roof.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
25 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a Change Order
27 for the replacement of the City Hall Garage roof in the amount of Twenty Thousand, Nine Hundred Fifty
28 Dollars ($20,950).
29 Section 2. Funding for this project is available in Account # 108409- S40A002.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
32 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
34 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
