HomeMy WebLinkAbout13511I RESOLUTION NO. 13,511 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK ADVERTISING AND 5 PROMOTION COMMISSION DB /A LITTLE ROCK CONVENTION 6 AND VISITORS BUREAU FOR THE REPAYMENT OF THE COST OF 7 THE PARKING PAY AND DISPLAY STATIONS IN THE RIVER 8 MARKET DISTRICT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock and the Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission 11 d/b /a Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau ( "LRCVB ") entered into a Memorandum of 12 Understanding wherein the LRCVB agreed to operate the River Market Oppenheimer Hall and related 13 facilities, and 14 WHEREAS, an opportunity to generate additional revenues to be used for capital improvements, 15 cleanliness and public safety of the River Market District ( "River Market ") has developed through the use 16 of Parking Pay and Display Stations ( "Pay Stations "), and 17 WHEREAS, the City and LRCVB have agreed that LRCVB will pay the upfront capital cost of 18 Fifty -Seven Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars ($57,200) for the Pay Stations, and that a portion of the 19 revenue generated from the Pay Stations will be used to repay the LRCVB. 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into contract with the 23 Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission d /b /a Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau 24 ( "LRCVB ") for the LRCVB to pay the upfront cost of Fifty -Seven Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars 25 ($57,200) for Parking Pay and Display Stations to be installed in the River Market and for the City to 26 repay the LRCVB for the upfront cost with a portion of the revenues generated by the Parking Stations. 27 Section 2. Funding for the repayment of the cost of the Parking Stations will be derived from the 28 revenue generated by the Parking Stations. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
