HomeMy WebLinkAbout135071 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 RESOLUTION NO. 13,507 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH EIGHT (8) ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS TO LITTLE ROCK YOUTH AGES SIX (6) TO FIFTEEN (15); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 12230 to solicit proposals for Little Rock Summer Recreation Programs for Little Rock youth ages six (6) to fifteen (15) , and WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on April 20, 2012, determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and recommends the organizations listed below for contract awards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. Contracts for Summer Recreation programs are hereby awarded to the following organizations: Organization Bid Life Skills for Youth 14,756 Love Letters the Universal Sound 14,600 Women's Council for African American Affairs 14,990 Our House, Inc. 12,391 Effective Leaders Kingdom Foundation 15,000 Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp -Males 12,493 Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp- Females 12,493 Centers for Youth and Families - Character Matters 14,443 Centers for Youth and Families -Kids of Character 14,116 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Whetstone 15,000 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Mitchell 15,000 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Thrasher 15,000 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs - Penick 15,000 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations providing summer recreation programs and services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. Section 3. Section 4. The term of the contract is from June 11, 2012, to July 27, 2012. Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of this resolution. Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
