HomeMy WebLinkAbout13497I RESOLUTION NO. 13,497 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH HARRISON POOL & RESURFACING TO 5 RESTORE THE PLASTER ON THE POOLS AND THE WHIRLPOOL 6 AND TO RESTORE THE WATER SLIDE AT WAR MEMORIAL PARK; 7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the pools at Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center were constructed almost twenty (20) 10 years ago and the plaster on the pool walls has deteriorated to the point that they will not pass inspection 11 by the Arkansas State Health Department for use this year; and 12 WHEREAS, in order to pass the Health Departments' requirements to open the pools this year, it is 13 necessary that the plaster be restored on the main and kid's pools and whirlpool, in addition to restoring 14 the waterslide; and 15 WHEREAS, Bid No. 12237 was advertised for this purpose and five (5) bids were received, with 16 Harrison Pool and Resurfacing submitting the most responsive and responsible bid, in the amount of 17 Seventy-Three Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars ($73,400.00); 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 21 Harrison Pool & Resurfacing in the amount of Seventy -Three Thousand, Four Hundred Dollars 22 ($73,400.00), for the restoration of the plaster for the main and kid's pools and the whirlpool, and to 23 restore the waterslide. 24 Section 2. Funding for this project is available in War Memorial Enterprise Funds. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 29 resolution. 30 Section 4. Repealer.
