HomeMy WebLinkAbout13491I RESOLUTION NO. 13,491 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE 4 CENTRAL ARKANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM TO TRANSFER FUNDS 5 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO MARYLAND 6 AVENUE, MADISON STREET AND 10TH STREET; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 WHEREAS, the Central Arkansas Library System is constructing a new children's library east of Jonesboro Drive and south of Interstate 630 including the construction of one -half street improvements to Maryland Avenue, Madison Street and I 01 Street; and, WHEREAS, it is desirable during the project to construct the entire street section to include curb, gutter and sidewalks both sides of the streets; and, WHEREAS, the most efficient and expeditious way to complete the improvements is to enter into an agreement with the Central Arkansas Library to contribute a portion of the funding for the street improvement project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the Central Arkansas Library System for construction of improvements to Maryland Avenue, Madison Street and I 01 Street for the construction of street improvements and to contribute funding for the project. Section 2. Funding for this project is available from Street Fund reserve. Amount of contribution: $200,000.00. Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
