3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND
4 EQUIPMENT FOR THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO FROM THE PLAYWELL
5 GROUP IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,859.38, PURSUANT TO A STATE
6 CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo desires to provide a playground area for children ages five (5)
9 through twelve (12) to meet the Zoo's goal of providing quality family recreational opportunities and the
10 City's goal of encouraging healthy exercise, and
I 1 WHEREAS, a volunteer committee of Little Rock citizens was used to determine the style and color
12 of playground equipment that the Little Rock Zoo should provide, and
13 WHEREAS, the playground equipment selected will feature universally accessible play equipment
14 as well as safety surfacing so that children with disabilities are able to play alongside all other children,
15 and
16 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo selected playground equipment to be provided pursuant to an
17 existing state contract PR1 I -10 with vendor Playworld Systems, Inc., and company The PlayWell Group;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purchase of playground equipment for the
21 Zoo pursuant to a state contract, No. PR I -10, now in force with vendor Playworld Systems, Inc.,
22 through a company named The PlayWell Group, in the amount of One Hundred Thousand, Eight
23 Hundred and Fifty -Nine and 38/100 Dollars ($100,859.38).
24 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this
30 resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
