HomeMy WebLinkAbout134671 RESOLUTION NO. 13,467 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH VAC -CON, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5 ONE (1), NINE (9) -YARD COMBINATION STORM SEWER CLEANER 6 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT STREET OPERATIONS 7 DIVISION, UTILIZING THE HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL 8 COOPERATIVE CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 011 31 32 33 34 35 WHEREAS, the Public Works Street Operations Division needs to replace an older Storm Sewer Cleaner unit which is requiring excessive maintenance costs and down time; and, WHEREAS, the staff recommends the purchase of one (1), Nine (9) -Yard Combination Storm Sewer Cleaner, from Vac -Con, Inc., in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety -Five Thousand, Two Hundred Forty- Six Dollars ($295,246.00), utilizing the Houston - Galveston Area Council Cooperative Contract, which will provide the optimal pricing and delivery options for this purchase; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with Vac -Con, Inc., utilizing the Houston - Galveston Area Council Cooperative Contract, for the purchase of one (1), Nine (9) -Yard Combination Storm Sewer Cleaner, for the Public Works Department, Street Operations Division, in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety -Five Thousand, Two Hundred Forty-Six Dollars ($295,246.00). Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in 2011 Short-Term Financing. Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
