RESOLUTION NO. 13,459
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH CDI
CONTRACTORS, LLC, TO CONSTRUCT A NEW COMPLEX WITHIN
THE UNIVERSITY PARK AREA; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, subsequent to the Adult Leisure Center being destroyed by fire in late 2009, Caradine
Company was hired to design a new complex in the University Park area; and
WHEREAS, concept drawings have been completed reflecting citizens' input and staff programs for
the new facility, which will have the added value of teleconferencing, webinars, computer training room
and acoustically- designed rooms; and
WHEREAS, RFQ #12201 was issued for the construction of the new complex, with ten qualification
packages being received, and CDI Contractors, LLC, was identified as the preferred company to negotiate
and enter into a contract with the City to construct the new complex in University Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and enter into a contract with CDI
Construction, LLC, to construct a new complex in the University Park area.
Section 2. Funding is available from insurance proceeds and 2011 Sales Tax Receipts.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this
resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
