HomeMy WebLinkAbout13422I RESOLUTION NO. 13,422 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO CONTRACT EXTENSIONS WITH SIX (6) ORGANIZATIONS 5 TO PROVIDE YOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD -BASED AFTER - 6 SCHOOL /OUT -OF- SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMS IN TARGETED 7 NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and 10 youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and 11 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Res. 13,087 (February 16, 20 10) provided for two (2) additional 12 contract terms based on their performance and Little Rock Board of Directors appropriations. This is the 13 second and final extension in the three (3) -year funding cycle ending December 31, 2012. 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 15 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contracts with the following 17 organizations to provide Neighborhood -Based After - School /Out -of- School Time for youth for an 18 additional year: 19 Program Budget 20 Central Neighborhood 21 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Thrasher Unit (6 -11) 50,209 22 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Thrasher Unit (12 -17 50,209 23 Guiding Others to Deliverance (12 -17) 49,000 24 East Neighborhood 25 Pulaski County Juvenile Services (6 -11) 47,310 26 Midtown Neighborhood 27 Faithcare /Inner City Futurenet (6 -11) 48,000 28 Faithcare/Inner City Futurenet (12 -17) 48,000 29 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs - Mitchell (6 -11) 50,356 30 Southwest Neighborhood 31 Promiseland CDC (6 -11) 48,000 32 Promiseland CDC (12 -17) 48,000 33 In His Image Youth Development Center (6 -11) 51,000 [PAGE 1 OF 2] I 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 West Neighborhood Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs - Penick (ages 6 -11) 52,626 Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Penick (ages 12 -17) 52,626 Total $595,336 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations providing targeted neighborhood, After - School /Out -of- School Time Programs and services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. Section 3. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number S 15T904. Section 4. The term of the contract is from January 3, 2012, to December 31, 2012. Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
