3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SUNBELT FIRE FOR THE PURCHASE OF
5 ONE (1) AERIAL TRUCK AND TWO (2) PUMPER TRUCKS FOR THE
6 LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT, UTILIZING THE HOUSTON -
7 GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL COOPERATIVE CONTRACT; AND
8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department desperately needs to replace aging, frontline fire units;
11 and,
12 WHEREAS, the staff of Fleet Services and the Little Rock Fire Department recommend the purchase
13 of one (1) aerial truck, at a cost of Seven Hundred Thirty-Two Thousand Dollars ($732,000.00), two (2)
14 pumper trucks, at a cost of Eight Hundred Seventy -Eight Thousand Dollars ($878,000.00), and uplifts
15 totaling Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), utilizing the Houston - Galveston Area Council
16 Cooperative Contract, for the total amount of One Million, Six Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars
17 ($1,635,000.00);
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
21 Sunbelt Fire for the purchase of one (1) aerial truck, two (2) pumper trucks, and uplifts, utilizing the
22 Houston - Galveston Area Council Cooperative Contract, for the total amount of One Million, Six Hundred
23 Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($1,635,000.00).
24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from 2011 Short Term Financing.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
