RESOLUTION NO. 13,406
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE DONATION OF ORIGINAL MT.
HOLLY CEMETERY RECORDS MAINTAINED IN THE CITY CLERK'S
OFFICE TO THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM'S
BUTLER CENTER FOR ARKANSAS STUDIES FOR PRESERVATION
AND RESEARCH PURPOSES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk's Office has on file two (2) boxes of historic records concerning Mt.
Holly Cemetery and citizens buried therein, which records date from 1849 to 1981; and,
WHEREAS, owing to the historic nature of the original records and their fragile state, special care
must be taken to preserve them; and,
WHEREAS, the Central Arkansas Library System's Butler Center for Arkansas Studies is willing to
accept a donation of the historic Mt. Holly records so that they can be properly preserved and available to
the public for research purposes and the Mt. Holly Cemetery Association Board agrees to the donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to effect the donation of historic records kept in
the City Clerk's Office dating from 1849 to 1981 concerning Mt. Holly Cemetery to the Butler Center for
Arkansas Studies. The donation of these important records will allow them to be properly preserved for
posterity and to be available to the public for research purposes.
Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
