RESOLUTION NO. 1", 5615.00
A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF A PORTION OF LILE
AVENUE TO BAPTIST HEALTH DRIVE (G -25 -211); AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a change in the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department policy regarding
Interstate signage will result in the removal of interstate signage identifying the Baptist Health Center in
favor of those stating the name of the exit — Lile Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Baptist Health believes a Lile Avenue exit instead of a Baptist Health exit would create
confusion and difficulty for many patients, particularly those from out of town or seeking urgent care; and
WHEREAS, Baptist Health filed an application asking that the name of a portion of Lile Avenue be
changed to Baptist Health Drive; and
WHEREAS, at its August 11, 2011, meeting, the Little Rock Planning Commission voted 9 ayes, 0
nays and 2 absent to recommend approval of the proposed street name change;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
Section 1. The name of that portion of Lile Avenue, from its eastern terminus to its intersection with
Medical Center Drive on the west, is hereby changed to Baptist Health Drive.
Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and the City
Manager is hereby directed to notify all departments of said change.
