HomeMy WebLinkAbout13346I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 13,346 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO AN OWNER ARCHITECT AGREEMENT WITH CARRADINE 5 COMPANIES ARCHITECTURE FOR ARCHITECTUAL DESIGN 6 SERVICES FOR THE ADULT LEISURE CENTER IN AN AMOUNT NOT 7 TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTY -EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS 8 ($158,000.00), PLUS REIMBURSABLES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Adult Leisure Center was destroyed by fire on October 18, 2009; and 11 WHEREAS, the Center was a very successful facility utilized by the community, with a central 12 location, low reservation fees and attractive, functional spaces; and 13 WHEREAS, on July 7, 2010, Resolution No. 13,163 was passed by the Board of Directors to commit 14 to rebuilding the Adult Leisure Center for the City; and 15 WHEREAS, Request for Qualification No. 0281 was advertised for design services of the proposed 16 building of approximately 15,500 square feet, one (1) -story design with low maintenance exterior finishes 17 and designed to meet state and City codes; and 18 WHEREAS, Carradine Companies Architecture of Little Rock was selected as the most qualified 19 bidder for this project. 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Carradine Companies 23 Architecture of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the architectural design services to rebuild the Adult Leisure 24 Center in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty -Eight Thousand Dollars ($158,000.00), plus 25 reimbursables. 26 Section 2. Funds received from the fire insurance claim through Travelers Insurance Company will 27 be utilized for the architectural design services of the Center. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 32 resolution. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
