3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CUSTOM HARDWARE ENGINEERING
5 & CONSULTING, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY -
6 SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($96,000.00), FOR FOUR (4) YEARS FOR
7 IBM MAINFRAME HARDWARE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT; AND
8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock uses an IBM mainframe computer to manage its database
11 systems for the Little Rock Police Department, Treasury Management, Parking Enforcement, District
12 Court and Vehicle Storage Facility; and
13 WHEREAS, Bid No. C11001R was published by the City to solicit qualified proposals for
14 maintenance and support services for this critical IBM equipment; and
15 WHEREAS, the City's bid review committee determined that Custom Hardware Engineering &
16 Consulting, Inc., ( "CHE ") submitted a responsive and qualified bid with the lowest price proposal; and
17 WHEREAS, CHE will provide the required maintenance and support services for a monthly fee of
18 Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) for a one (1) -year contract term with up to three (3), one (1) -year
19 renewals, at the City's option;
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a four (4) -year
23 contract with Custom Hardware Engineering & Consulting, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Ninety-Six
24 Thousand Dollars ($96,000.00) for IBM Mainframe hardware maintenance and technical support
25 services.
26 Section 2. Funds for this project will be paid from the Department of Information Technology
27 operating budget, Mainframe Maintenance Account No. 10303061350.
28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
32 resolution.

I Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
