HomeMy WebLinkAbout13251I RESOLUTION NO. 13,251 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE HOPWA FUNDING TO THE 4 ARKANSAS AIDS FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHTY 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS (S85,000.00) FOR A FOUR (4) -MONTH PERIOD; 6 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received $317,437 in HOPWA funds from the U.S. Department 9 of Housing & Urban Development; and 10 WHEREAS, the Arkansas AIDS Foundation currently administers HOPWA through an Agreement 11 with the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) for the Central Arkansas area; and 12 WHEREAS, in late 2010, the City of Little Rock was designated by HUD as an entitlement 13 jurisdiction to administer the HOPWA Program for a six (6) county area, including Pulaski, Faulkner , 14 Saline, Lonoke, Perry and Grant Counties; and 15 WHEREAS, the City's amendment to the 2010 Consolidated Plan now allows the City to administer 16 the HOPWQ Program; and 17 WHEREAS, the purpose of the short-term agreement with Arkansas AIDS Foundation is to allow 18 the City adequate time to issue a Request for Qualifications for potential HOPWA providers without a 19 disruption in service during the transition from the ADH to the City of Little Rock; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby approves funding to the Arkansas AIDS Foundation in the 23 amount of Eighty -Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00), for a four (4) -month period, to prevent a 24 disruption in service to low - income persons HIV positive. 25 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 29 resolution. 30 Section 3. Repealer.
